About

Cousins, Alida Coetzee and Colette Botha took ownership of the Old Cape Last Trading Post in 2021.

Alida and Colette have created a haven for customers wanting a tranquil restaurant experience in a family-friendly environment. Old Cape Last Trading Post is about breaking bread with loved ones at an unhurried pace.

Alida: Former model, Alida, swapped the runway for the kitchen when she started working in the food industry in 2000. After owning two restaurants and a takeaway shop, in Limpopo and Naboomspruit, Alida relocated to Bredasdorp in 2016. In her spare time, you can find her selling traditional pap-en-kaiings (maize meal porridge and crackling) at festivals around South Africa, at Shasha’s Food Gallery, a popular food truck.
Colette: Former Ellisras guesthouse owner, Colette, always listed food as a hobby. This passion for cooking was inherited from her grandmother, who always served massive Sunday lunches for the family.
