"What a marvelous place to stay with perfect location in Betty's. Spent our first day wandering down to the beach with the kids (only a short walk). Great beach with long stretches of white sand and small waves that kept myself and kids entertained. Returned to the guesthouse and lazed around the pool which is surrounded by glass panels for shelter against the wind while still allowing you to admire the stunning fynbos garden. Ended the day with a barbecue whith a beautiful sunset in the background - all barbecue utensils (even wood) provided by hosts.
We booked a family room (kids stayed for free) and the room was spacious with double bed and one single bed. The friendly staff set up a stretcher with mattress and sheets for my youngest son while we were finishing our meal. Even with the added stretcher, the room did not feel cramped. Coffee machine in room with great coffee and breakfast served in main dining area was quality.
Following day was spent cycling and fishing with the kids at bass lake which is also within walking distance. Once again the hosts provided rods and spinners for us to use. Also popped in to see the penguins that nest close by. Apparently they are there most of the year.
Will definitely be back to explore Betty's further and nou doubt where I will be staying"
"The hospitality and attention to detail were second to none. From the huge spotless room for the four of us, to the delish breakfasts, pristine garden and sparkling pool, we have found a gem for our stays in Betty's Bay to visit family. It is so helpful to have an enclosed garden and pool with young kids and being walking distance from restaurants and the beach was a bonus. Thank you and we look forward to our next visit."
