Mors Bags - Cloth Shopping Bag

Mors Bags - Cloth Shopping Bag

Pikkewyntjies / Penguinkidz Pre-School

A lady in the UK whose surname is Mors has established the Mors brand, a cloth shopping bag which shoppers take to the shops instead of buying more and more plastic bags to end up in landfill or the sea. (It's amusing for us South Africans that the creator's name is 'Mors', isn't it?)

Zaan is now in touch with the lady in Kleinmond who free, gratis and for nothing makes mors bags to distribute in the community. (She uses donated material so if you can donate or know someone who can, please contact Serena, serenamaryhall@gmail.com)

She is going to make two bags for each of the moms in Mooi Uitsig. It will mean saving money on buying plastic bags which they currently do without thinking about it and consequently no longer adding to the pollution problem. It will also mean doing something nice for moms and something practical to help them stretch their rands. Not all the moms will be receptive, of course, but those who are will have an impact on those who aren't, especially as plastic bags get more and more expensive to buy.

I am sure you are all with me in wishing success to Mors Bags and to Mrs Hall for her enormous contribution to the community and to our own Zaan and her unfailing efforts to support the residents of Mooi Uitsig.

South Africans are fine people and I'm so proud to belong to the tribe.
