School Holiday Break
We wish the whole of the PHES family a well-deserved break.
A lovely child, a boy, who attended Pikkewyntjies for two years was ready for school last year and is doing outstandingly well at Kleinmond Laërskool in Grade 1. Juffrou Zaan thought he would, he was a joy to have in the school.
His little sister is now at Pikkewyntjies and when his mom comes to fetch her in the afternoons, she always brings him along as there is no one to leave him with at home. Every day he runs in with a big smile to hug Juffrou Zaan and tell her about his day and smile and talk to everyone. If his mom has to speak to Juffrou Zaan he enjoys visiting Tannie Louise in the kitchen and the family of hens and roosters outside.
The other day when it was time to say goodbye, he asked Juffrou Zaan to please not let his sister be ready for school - ever. Of course, she looked surprised but she felt very tearful when he said, “because if you do, I won’t be able to see you or Pikkewyntjies every day anymore and I don’t ever want to stop coming here”.
