School Holiday Break
We wish the whole of the PHES family a well-deserved break.
As you can readily appreciate there are a lot of people in Mooi Uitsig right now unable to go to their piece work on account of the lockdown measures. Consequently, there are a lot of empty kitchen shelves.
The school could not carry the cost of feeding the entire village indefinitely even with the help of supporters and it was a huge relief when Wayne Jackson of Sunny Seas, Betty’s Bay contacted people who could help and he and Charmaine Resandt undertook to order and deliver food to the school every day to help feed adolescent and adult appetites.
Louise, the school’s indefatigable cook when last seen at the Spar was smiling cheerfully as if no extraordinary demands were being made of her. She has a talent for cooking satisfying, tasty meals out of very basic ingredients but even she can’t magic a meal out of nothing.
Our heartfelt thanks and those of the grateful Mooi Uitsig locked-downers, go to Charmaine and Wayne for their effort and kindness to ensure it isn’t going to come to that.
