School Holiday Break
We wish the whole of the PHES family a well-deserved break.
As the usual end-of-school-year-functions could not be held in December, Juffrou Zaan and the staff organised a Fun Day at the school instead.
First, after a Christmas message and a song, the seven graduates were presented with their certificates. It is a proud moment when they stand side-by-side with their certificates, skills-ready for school.
This year there was an unusual graduate to be honoured. Juffrou Genevieve obtained her pre-primary teacher's diploma from Boland College. It’s been tough working and studying part-time and we congratulate her warmly.
Then Father Christmas arrived - what joy - with a present for every Pikkewyntjie and when they had waved farewell to him, they discovered there was a jumping castle in their playground ready for eager feet and a slip-and-slide bubbling with soap and sanitiser. They had a whale of a time and when lunch was ready they were more than ready for it.
Was it samp and beans? Well it could have been because Louise can make old shoes taste good but it was something special of course - hot dogs with all the trimmings and ice cream.
It was a fun day.
