We are proud to be part of the process of conserving Renosterveld in the Overberg district by registering a servitude in the Deeds Office. A great initiative of the Overberg Renosterveld Conservation Trust.
On Monday (19 August), Nico became the sixth farmer in the Overberg to sign a conservation easement, which is also known as a servitude. This champion Overberg farmer has now committed to protecting the remaining Renosterveld on his farm - forever. Nico has 142 hectares of critically endangered Central Rûens Shale Renosterveld on his property. The conservation area will now be known as the Keykas Renosterveld Reserve.
A big thank you to Nico, as well as the Table Mountain Fund, an associated Trust of WWF South Africa, for supporting our Conservation Easement Programme.
