Tannie Anna is a self-taught baker who mixed her first cake batter with a vintage egg-beater and baked the cake in an old fashioned gas oven. After deciding that there would be no halfway mark when it came to the quality of her baked products she went on to win the VLV floating trophy for the best cake, twice. The winning cakes, a soft, white, melt-in-the-mouth vanilla cream cake as well Anna’s wholesome and healthy carrot cake are still top sellers in the cosy shop that houses Anna’s Pies in the Main Road of Gansbaai.
The shop is relaxed with a few tables and chairs for those wanting to sit down and spend a while with Anna and her friendly staff. Sip on a soft drink, fruit juice, tea or coffee while you sample her freshly baked products.
