Our guests were overjoyed this morning, as they saw a Southern Right whale with a calf nearing our boat.
Dyer Island Marine Big 5 Tour: 09 August 2022
Such a perfect day out a sea today! Our first and third trips of the day today saw some beautiful sightings of Humpback Whales and we were even fortunate to kick off the day with a very special appearance from an endangered Indian Ocean Humpback Dolphin! On trip number two we spent some time with an amazingly calm Southern Right Whale. Throughout the day the whales we encountered displayed fluking, logging and to our delight even some lobtailing!
On all three trips today, we were able to spot the endangered African Penguins on Dyer Island. We also enjoyed the 60,000-strong colony of Cape Fur Seals on Geyser Rock who seemed just as interested in our guests on board as we were in them! By our shark cage diving vessel, Slashfin, we witnessed some brilliant Bronze Whaler action. All in all, a great day out aboard Dream Catcher!
