“GOD bless you and keep you, GOD smile on you and gift you, GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.” (Num. 6:24-26) (Message)
This is one of the most beautiful and assuring verses in the Bible, you will ever read.
Just think about it for a moment. GOD look you right into the face and He smiles! Imagine He takes your face in His hands, turn your head towards and while smiling,
He says: “I will bless you and keep you. I love you so much that I gave My Son, my only Son to die for your sins and you will have eternal life. Just believe in Him as your savior!
If only, when GOD smiles and says we are saved, we'd salute him, thank him, and live like those who have just received a gift from the commander in chief. We seldom do that, though. We prefer to get salvation the old-fashioned way: We earn it. To accept grace is to admit failure, a step we are hesitant to take. We opt to impress GOD with how good we are rather than confessing how great He is. We dizzy ourselves with doctrine. Burden ourselves with rules. Think that GOD will smile on our efforts.
He doesn't.
GOD's smile is not for the healthy hiker who boasts that he made the journey alone. It is, instead, for the crippled leper who begs God for a back on which to ride. Can you imagine that! GOD loves you and me, sinners, beggars, liars!
Start smiling. You are saved by Jesus grace alone. Start showing grace to all the people that cross your path. Give them a smile and let the love of GOD shines through you!
That is all you have to do! GOD did the rest. He is smiling!
