It is with great pleasure that I welcome all participants on behalf of Gansbaai Academia, to our first interschools ever. This will be a closely contested rivalry, but at the end of the day sportsmanship and the building of new friendships will matter the most.
Die interskole tussen Gansbaai Academia en Eben Dönges is geskiedkundig vir Academia omdat dit die eerste interskole is in die kort bestaan van ons skool. Alhoewel ons alreeds ‘n lang pad (5 jaar) met mnr Taylor en Eben Dönges loop, dink ek dit is ‘n hoogtepunt in die bestaan van ons skool. As ‘n gevestigde skool deel Eben Dönges ook baie ervaringe met ons skool.
I believe that sport builds character and the sporting fields are the training ground for the discipline necessary to produce leaders in adult life. Physical activity, is a social experience that powerfully influenced attitudes and values. Following rules, respecting your opponent, not cheating, and learning how to be good winners and losers are to be part of what is meant to be a proud sharky.
