Just because that bright Moon is around doesn't mean we can't look at stars...
Here are some pics of live views through the 12” telescope of some bright nebulae, clusters and of course the Moon, projected on the western wall of the observatory and the laptop.
Tried different combinations with the Samsung camera at prime focus using two focal reducers, one at the telescope and one on the camera, but was not madly impressed. For those wide field of view shots, piggy-backing the refractor seems to work best.
Don't forget we are looking at stars at the Club's stargazing evening next weekend (Saturday 10 Feb.).
