The Auditor-General of South Africa, Mr Kimi Ma-kwetu, and the leadership of the Western Cape Business Unit conducted an Annual Stakeholder function which included the PFMA & MFMA Clean Audit Awards for 2013-2014, most improved awards as well as the inauguration of the new Western Cape offices on 30 March 2015 in Cape Town.

Overberg District Municipality was awarded with a Certificate of Achievement – Most Improved MFMA Audit Outcomes.  This Certificate is awarded in recognition of the Most Improved Municipality in the Western Cape.

Cllr Lincoln de Bruyn, Executive Mayor of Overberg District Municipality, proudly received this Award on behalf of the Municipality.  He thanked Mr David Beretti, Municipal Manager and all the employees of Overberg District Municipality at an IDP Steering Committee held on 31 March 2015 for their hard work and total commitment.

Mr David Beretti said that this could only be achieved with excellent political leadership and adherence to good governance.
