Deon Langenhoven (left), NSRI Hermanus station commander,  said:    "At 23h21,   Sunday,  08th November, NSRI Hermanus duty crew were activated following reports from an eye-witness claiming that he heard shouts for help and the sound of a boat outboard motor coming off the sea at Danger Point, between Kleinmond and Gansbaai.

We towed our sea rescue craft Hunters Gold Rescuer to the scene while a local man launched his private 7 meter rigid inflatable boat to begin a search and the SA Police Services responded.

On arrival on the scene no sign of anyone in any difficulty could be found despite a sea and shore search but then Police came across a 4.2 meter boat lying beached in shallow surf and while investigating a vehicle arrived with 3 local men who confirmed that two of them had been on the boat fishing when they got into difficulty and swam ashore and they had gone home to fetch the one mans brother with his bakkie to come to help recover their boat.

They were not injured and they required no further assistance.
