Antoinette Vermeulen (néé Garvie) was a honourable person, who passed before her time on 4 March, at the young age of 48. Born in Parow, Cape Town, she attended Tygerberg High School. As one of 6 children, sister to two brothers and 3 sisters, she knew the meaning of family. She was a loving mother to her 2 children, Tiaan (18) and Anelle (14), and the rock of the Vermeulen family. She dedicated her life to the clients and staff of the South African Post Office with pride and joy. With her creative nature at heart, she felt most at home near the sea, in Gansbaai – a town that she had called home since the age of 21. After moving back to Cape Town 12 years ago, she cared for her parents with whom she had lived.
Despite her numerous hardships, she never made her problems known and was always, selflessly, willing to help others. We will remember her as a doting mother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend.
She will forever be in our hearts.
Mary-Anne Grimbly (sister)
