On 18 February 2016 the Western Cape Minister of Finance, Dr Ivan Meyer and Western Cape Minister of Local Government Environmental Affairs and Development Planning, Mr Anton Bredell and Business Unit Executive at the Auditor General, Sharrone Adams hosted the 2015 Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) Audit Certificate Ceremony at the Banquet Hall, Civic Centre, City of Cape Town.
Overberg District Municipality received a Clean Audit Award for the Financial Year 2014/15 from the Western Cape Province and the Auditor General, Western Cape.
It is the first time that the Overberg District Municipality obtained a Clean Audit outcome. The Overberg District area is one of two District Municipal areas in South Africa where all Municipalities in the District area obtained a clean audit.
