Western Cape: On 2016-05-17 Hermanus SAPS members acted on information on crayfish been stored at a house in Hawston. On arrival they found crayfish tails and crayfish in a back room in black bags. When counted by officials of the Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry’s a total of 2818 tails and 22 whole crayfish with an estimated street value of R85 274 were seized.
A 56 year old male was arrested .The suspect is due to appear tomorrow in the Hermanus Magistrates Court on a charge of illegal possession of crayfish.
