Last month has been an incredibly interesting one, both sad, yet fascinating given the stranding of three deceased white sharks in our area with their deaths attributed to orca predation. The news of this event went viral as never before have such circumstances been witnessed in South Africa.
The Dyer Island Conservation Trust's white shark biologist, Alison Towner, who has studied white sharks in Gansbaai for over ten years, was present at each shark carcass retrieval and autopsy.
Alison was the speaker at a Marine Evening to share this interesting scientific event with locals.
