Pearly Beach Conservancy Meander
The Pearly Beach Conservancy hosted the Strandveld Hiking Club on its Meander along the coast and through Pearly Beach on 12 November 2022.
The Pearly Beach Conservancy Meander was officially inaugurated on 19 June 2021. The Mayor of the Overstrand Mr Dudley Coetzee did the ribbon-cutting honours, while fifty-five walkers eagerly anticipated the 5-km route on this gorgeous winter afternoon. The Meander is a picturesque trail that winds along the coastline. It passes through sheltered coves and secluded beaches and finally through the village of Pearly Beach. Yellow flowers and arrows are painted on prominent stones to guide walkers on their way. Maps of the Meander are available at the Pearly Beach Herbarium, where the route starts. At the end of the walk, on this special occasion, the thirsty and hungry participants were graciously treated to promotional offers at the local restaurants: Pizza Shack, Beach Vibes, Fynbos Deck, Whale Coast Brewing Company and Karin’s Kitchen at the Club. The Pearly Beach Conservancy invites everyone to walk the trail at their leisure and enjoy the magnificent ocean views and Strandveld Fynbos. Happy meandering!
