GovChat App

Colleagues, we need your input with the GovChat App.

Please report street lights that are not working, potholes that need fixing and Municipal property that has been vandalised (eg. swings at play parks) via the App and tell us about your frustrations and what was working and what not. Thoughts/frustrations and compliments can be emailed to Aron Gcotyelwa at agcotyelwa@overstrand.gov.za who is assisting Director Roderick Williams with the roll-out of this App.

What is GovChat all about?

• For maintenance requests of Municipal services. Add this number 082 046 8553 and text "Hi" in Whatsapp to start Govchatting or search for GovChat on Facebook Messenger. The App works best if you drop your location's pin (type address) and report the issue.

According to GovChat, you can report the following Municipal service requests:

• Potholes

• Street Lights

• Refuse Removal

• Sewage

• Water Disruption

• Water Leak

• Electricity Disruption

• Illegal Connection

Try it out by saying REPORT with the service request you want to report. Once you've reported a service request, you can track the status by saying TRACK.
