The Bistro is a restaurant on Gansbaai’s main road that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. The bistro-style menu has a selection of à la carte dishes, delicious pizzas and decadent desserts. Whether you decide to tuck into your morning bacon and eggs, devour succulent beef ribs, feast on authentic Durban curry or get a pizza to go, The Bistro guarantees freshly prepared food at an affordable price. Remember, the ribs and curry need to be pre-booked a day in advance to ensure the very best bistro experience! There is a fully-licensed bar and only liquor purchased on the premises may be consumed. If you aren’t in the mood for a meal, you can choose to curl up on the leather couch and relax in the Whiskey & Cigar Lounge or hang out in the private back garden and enjoy a refreshing after-work cocktail. The Bistro is wheelchair accessible and is available for your private function for up to 35 guests.

About

Marius Van Reeuwejk and Libet Smit took ownership of The Bistro in 2022.

Marius grew up in Natal and qualified as a chef in 2004. His most notable achievements in the hospitality industry include his time managing The Highlander in Clarence and Natures Haven in Koppies, Free State which he upgraded from coffee garden status to a four-star lodge within two years.

Both Marius and Libet have a passion for people and look forward to meeting new friends at The Bistro.
