Clarke of the Karoo

Get ready for a feast at Clarke of the Karoo that is out of this.. country. Their menu is a vibrant mix of “Karoo Cuisine” and Mediterranean dishes which includes the likes of Karoo Oysters, Cape Malay Bobotie, their legendary Karoo Lamb Curry served with papadums and an array of sambals, Whitebait and Roasted Vegetable Bruschetta with balsamic reduction. The menu extends to special sandwich and home-made burgers and on occasion, their Karoo Lamb Burger. Pan-seared Yellowfin Tuna is a speciality when available.

Situated on Route62, the Karoo Saloon is a lovely little pitstop along your travels. Come and enjoy traditional home cooked cuisine, drinks by the fireplace, meeting of friends or a weekend away in the picturesque Tradauw Valley. Serving up a full menu of breakfast, delicious burgers, pizza, steaks and vegetarian options, the eatery is great for groups and children.

The Magpie Collective believes the work they do links art and design with meaningful commercial and social entrepreneurism integrated with environmental concern. Established as a studio in 1998, Magpie relocated from Cape Town to Barrydale in 2003. The whimsical, charming and bespoke creations are produced from a broad range of medium and often incorporate repurposed, found, memorable or recycled elements.
