About

Image

“Our goal for Trail’s End Bike Hotel is to become a global destination for adventure enthusiasts, and beyond that, a place where local meets world, ideas are shared and solutions are found. As active members of the Grabouw community, we are fully aware of the challenges our town faces, and we are excited that Trail’s End Bike Hotel can play a significant part in uniting the local community through sport as well as providing much-needed jobs as it contributes to building the local tourism industry.”

Trail’s End Bike Hotel is the brainchild of MTB enthusiast Pieter Silberbauer and his business partner Johannes Matthewson. Inspired by bike hotels in Holland and Japan, this new venture was something that the Grabouw community desperately needed. To ensure a world-class experience that both pro and amateur athletes would expect Dr Chad Gordon, a successful trail runner and winner of many triathlons, joined the team.

“An awesome place for the outdoor enthusiast. Great food after a hectic MTB ride. Welcoming owner and staff! Be sure to visit the bicycle museum.”  Ryan Burgar
“Well, what can one say about this amazing little gem in Grabouw? Whether you are a mountain bike enthusiast or not, I highly recommend this Trail’s End.”  Reginald Mundell
“What a fantastic find, especially for bike lovers and families with children! Awesome 20-meter training pool for swimming enthusiasts, bike trails galore, a restaurant, bar, conference centre, cosy fireplaces and even a Bike Museum. We will be back with our mountain bikes.”  Luke Ziegenhardt
“Spent the day at Trail’s End and what a beautiful place. It is a haven for mountain bikers and gives you access to all the biking trails in the area. For those of us who don't get on a bike, they have a lovely restaurant and bar area with a library in the corner. There is a big swimming pool outside as well as a rock-climbing wall for the children and brave adults.”  Elmarie van Loggerenberg
“I ended up here after a seven-hour trail run and was pleasantly surprised by what I found. A one-stop hotel and eatery for cyclists and runners, in a prime location. The facility is very modern and clean with a nice big pool as well.”  Lukie Snyman

“This wonderful home away from home deserves the highest rating. You are greeted by greenery, horses and a true country feel when you arrive at Trail’s End The facilities are fantastic with so much on offer. Take a bike ride on one of the many trails or take an awesome walk. Return feeling energized and hot, cool down in the lap pool or rejuvenate your muscles with a massage treatment. Freshen up in the beautifully clean and spacious rooms before wolfing down a fantastic dinner. Grab a drink next to the bar or recline next to the fire. You can't ask for anything more. The parking is gravel so may prove slightly challenging for wheelchairs. The entrance is wheelchair accessible and there are wheelchair accessible bathroom facilities.”  Michell Macloed
