CALL FOR APPLICATIONS TO TRADE AT HERMANUS NEW HARBOUR
During the development phase of the new harbour, the old Lusitania fish shop was renovated.
With its ample parking space, the intention is to turn this building into a weekend market that will accommodate a couple of select local traders.
Trading will be facilitated in partnership with a number of small business agencies and will be administered jointly by Overstrand Municipality and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment.
To this end, Overstrand Municipality is calling on small, micro-and medium enterprises to register their interest in trading at this market by submitting the requisite application/consent forms by no later than 12:00 on Wednesday, 15 December 2021.
When evaluating applications, note that preference will be given to:
• South African citizens
• Locally manufactured products
• Enterprises owned by women / the youth
• Registered businesses that are tax compliant
Nevertheless, foreigners with proper documentation are also welcome to apply, and any business that is not registered with SARS yet will be assisted to get their tax affairs in order.
All applicants must also note that they will be required to consent to participating in the Enterprise Development Programme.

Council reserves the right not to enter into any agreements. If you have not heard from us within two weeks from the closing date, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
UITNODIGING VIR AANSOEKE OM HANDEL TE DRYF BY NUWE HAWE IN HERMANUS
In die loop van die Nuwe Hawe se ontwikkelingsfase is die ou Lusitania-viswinkel opgeknap. Gegewe die ruim parkeerruimte, is die voorneme om hierdie gebou in ʼn naweekmark te omskep wat ʼn aantal plaaslike handelaars van uitsoekgehalte sal huisves.
Handeldrywing sal in vennootskap met ʼn aantal kleinsake-agentskappe geskied en sal gesamentlik deur Munisipaliteit Overstrand en die departement van bosbou, visserye en die omgewing geadministreer word.
Met hierdie doel voor oë, nooi Munisipaliteit Overstrand klein, mikro-en medium ondernemings om aan te dui of hulle daarin belang sou stel om by hierdie mark handel te dryf deur die nodige aansoek-/instemmingsvorms teen nie later nie as 12:00 op Woensdag, 15 Desember 2021 in te dien.
Let daarop dat daar in die evaluering van aansoeke voorkeur verleen sal word aan:
• Suid-Afrikaanse burgers
• Plaaslikvervaardigde produkte
• Ondernemings wat deur vroue / die jeug besit word
• Geregistreerde ondernemings wie se belastingsake in orde is
Desnieteenstaande is buitelanders wat oor die nodige dokumentasie beskik ook welkom om aansoek te doen, en enige onderneming wat nog nie by die Suid-Afrikaanse Inkomstediens geregistreer is nie, sal gehelp word om hul belastingsake in orde te kry.
Alle aansoekers moet ook daarop let dat daar van hulle verwag sal word om in te stem tot deelname aan die Ondernemingontwikkelingsprogram.
