Now in Stock: Sijnn Varietal Series
Charla Haasbroek has been with Sijnn in Malgas since 2014.
Named after Sir George Napier, Governor of the Cape of Good Hope from 1837 to 1843, Napier Vineyards is located in the Wellington wine region, not, as one might expect, in the Overberg! Their first harvest was in 1994 and now the winery harvests on average 8 tons per hectare so only produces 12 500 (12-bottle) cases of wine.
Come and taste "Petit Marie" Rose from Napier Vineyards this Friday 6 December (3pm - 6pm).
Join us for a special wine-tasting event in our courtyard, presented by David Clarke of ExAnimo. Ex-sommelier David will be opening a few wines that we stock at Wine & Co, and we are certain you would not have had the opportunity to taste them. The tasting will be followed by supper prepared by CanD's Kitchen and wine will be available to purchase on the evening.
Numbers are limited so to reserve your seat at the table please send your Proof of Payment before Friday, 13 December. Starting at 6:30pm, the cost is R250 per person.
Our bank info: FNB; Account No: 62757796928; Hermanus branch.

At Restless River, things are done differently, and mostly by hand. Probably more like the days before mass production. It takes a long time to make wine this way, so about 1000 cases of each variety are produced every year. This approach results in special, elegant, somewhat rebellious wines that have their own distinctive personality and character shaped each year by that particular growing season. We are very happy to have these special wines in stock!
Ava Marie Chardonnay is one of Platter's Wines of the Year.
Ava Marie Chardonnay Tim Atkin 96/100.
Main road & Dignity Cab Sauvignon Time Atkin 95/100.
Please contact us for the Restless River wines.
Have you ever heard about a great wine but could never find a bottle for yourself (to share with friends, of course)? Well, the team at Wine & Company do all the hard work for you! We visit wine farms and attend tastings to find, taste, and then stock wine from the smaller Estates and independent winemakers who buy grapes and produce outstanding wine under their own labels – much the same as the French negociants have been doing for centuries. Given that these winemakers make wine in such small quantities, sometimes just a single barrel, their wine will never be found on the shelves of the major retailers, but only in specialist shops like Wine & Company on High Street, Hermanus.
In addition to the great selection of well-known wines and MCC's, we also stock local craft gin and beer, French Champagne, La Trappe Trappist Ales as well as whisky and other spirits. Wine & Company (established in 1998 by Bartho Eksteen) has a well-earned reputation for stocking hard-to-find small-batch wines and we strive to continue this great tradition. If you purchase a bottle of wine from us and it is faulty or you are not satisfied with the quality, we will gladly replace the bottle and return the faulty wine to the winemaker.
Feel free to contact Wine & Company if you need a particular wine and we will do our best to source it for you. We are also able to ship wine locally and to most countries so do ask about international shipping.
