Who remembers the "olden days" when the SABC Test Pattern would appear, annoyingly, just when you were enjoying a programme on TV? Well, it seems as though we are 'undergoing maintenance' as the latest COVID-19 announcement has shut the wine and liquor industry down again!
We hope this is an only temporary break in transmission so we can get back to sharing our favourite wine with you soon. As far as I know, we are still able to sell online, and deliveries will take place once we go back to 'business as normal', so please keep an eye open for news and updates.
The Story of Kumusha
Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Tinashe’s career in hospitality began as a waiter at the Roundhouse Restaurant in Cape Town, followed by a wine steward position at One&Only Cape Town’s contemporary Asian restaurant Nobu, where he was soon promoted to Sommelier. After receiving the Reaching for Young Stars Best Wine Steward Award in 2013, Tinashe was in the spotlight as the one to watch. His next career role was head sommelier at the famed Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga, followed by five years at Africa’s top restaurant, The Test Kitchen. Since relocating to Johannesburg, Tinashe – an accomplished master blender – is set to entrench his own wine brand, Kumusha Wines, into the South African market, and we are happy to stock them!

About Us
Have you ever heard about a great wine but could never find a bottle for yourself (to share with friends, of course)? Well, the team at Wine & Company do all the hard work for you! We visit wine farms and attend tastings to find, taste, and then stock wine from the smaller Estates and independent winemakers who buy grapes and produce outstanding wine under their own labels – much the same as the French negociants have been doing for centuries. Given that these winemakers make wine in such small quantities, sometimes just a single barrel, their wine will never be found on the shelves of the major retailers, but only in specialist shops like Wine & Company on High Street, Hermanus.
In addition to the great selection of well-known wines and MCC's, we also stock local craft gin and beer, French Champagne, La Trappe Trappist Ales as well as whisky and other spirits. Wine & Company (established in 1998 by Bartho Eksteen) has a well-earned reputation for stocking hard-to-find small-batch wines and we strive to continue this great tradition. If you purchase a bottle of wine from us and it is faulty or you are not satisfied with the quality, we will gladly replace the bottle and return the faulty wine to the winemaker.
Feel free to contact Wine & Company if you need a particular wine and we will do our best to source it for you. We are also able to ship wine locally and to most countries so do ask about international shipping.
Wine & Company is a boutique wine shop in Hermanus dealing in the sale of limited-edition wine, craft beer, artisanal gin and imported whisky. This long-established, owner-run, boutique has a favourable reputation with both local and international wine lovers, and is fondly referred to as the ‘coo...
