Kleinmond Tennis Club welcomes members and non-members of all age groups and levels of experience.

The family-friendly sports club provides well-maintained courts and a clubhouse that hosts both club and private events. 

Club Fees

Kleinmond Tennis Club’s fees are as follows:

• Entrance - R160
• Fully Paid Up Members - R480 per year
• Weekday Members - R370 per year
• Junior Members - R190 per year
• Visitor’s Fees - R30

Please note: 

• Court reservations can be made and paid for at the bookshop in Kleinmond Spar Centre
• Court reservations cannot be made at the bookshop in Kleinmond Spar Centre over the festive season. Please contact Kleinmond Tennis Club directly if you want to reserve a court during these times.

Top Tennis Tips  

People often forget that champions such as Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams and Steffi Graf all started as beginners. So, for all you aspiring tennis players out there, Kleinmond Tennis Club shares a few top tennis tips. 

1. Choose the Right Racket

Before spending money on a racket, do your research on what suits your body and grip size. Never be afraid to ask for advice from someone who knows better. 

2. Take Some Lessons

The best way to get fast results is by taking lessons. This will prevent you from picking up bad habits as well as allow you to meet other people around your skill level. 

3. Warm-Up and Cool-Down

Before and after every practice session and game you need to warm up and cool down. This will prevent you from getting injured.

4. Aim for the Hip

Aim to hit the ball after it has bounced and reached waist height. It’s easier to hit the ball when it’s on its way down from its highest point. 

5. Pick the Right Grip

There are different kinds of grips for different shots. Speak to someone who has experience with different types of grips to help you pick the best grip for your play style.

6. Stay Focused

When playing an official match, stay focused on the point you are currently playing for and forget about everything that happened before that. 

7. Practise Often

This may sound obvious but keep practising! All the greatest players in the world have at least one thing in common: they never miss a single day of practice!
