130 Different Documented Bird Species
Did you know that we have about 130 different documented bird species on and around the property?
Mosaic Private Sanctuary is thrilled to be exhibiting the wildlife photography of Baron Bustin at their Stanford shop.
“For photography, there is no comparison with Africa. The thrill is in the fluidity of the situation at all times- you never know what nature is going to throw at you from moment to moment, and you have to be ready at all times for the absolute unexpected- whether it be something as momentous as a kill or a tender instant of interaction. I hope I have captured some of this in this small selection of photographs.
My primary focus in photography is capturing cultures other than our own, which is increasingly uniform across the world. India and South East Asia are my favourite haunts because their indigenous cultures, with their beautiful costumes and ancient customs, are still relatively intact. In our fast paced world, changes are sweeping across it, and I can foresee the day that we all increasingly come under the sway of Western ways- its allure is just too strong, especially among the young.
My aim is to capture a moment in either realm and present it not as a photograph, but as a story translated into art, worthy to be displayed and draw from the viewer wonder and enquiry.
If you choose one of these pieces as your own, I hope you will find resonance in my intentions.”
– Baron
Baron’s beautiful works will be on display from August 30th, which coincides with the shop’s Winter Sale. Bright new Spring Arrivals will also be on display.
Find the shop next to Graze Café in Queen Victoria Street, Stanford.
